40 Great Nail Art Ideas – Violet Rose Nails

Hi my lovely friends. It’s been too long since I last joined the 40 Great Nail Art Ideas challenge. I have to thank my bestie Mina (Cubbiful) for reminding me about it. Once I checked my prompt I simply couldn’t believe which theme I had this time, as it was Violet Rose Nails! I have a long-term relationship with making pretty roses on my nails, so I simply couldn’t pass any occasion on making them again. I love incorporating negative space into my designs and I had an idea of making such nail art for a while, so it was a perfect opportunity. Let’s take a look.

I started off by making negative space stripes on my nails as a background. I applied a base coat, which I am obsessed with lately, SuperChic Lacquer Bring It On! It’s an amazing product, it keep my nails stained-free and it dries in seconds. Then I reached for the striping tape and applied it where desired, making uneven spaces in between. I applied one layer of white nail polish and removed the tape immediately! Saint Gill no. 02 was the white polish that I used.

Once the stripes were dry I applied a layer of top coat before proceeding to making my pretty violet roses. The top coat that I’m loving lately is also from SuperChic Lacquer called Marvel Liquid Macro Top Coat. It gives an amazing shine and dries within seconds.

I took my thin nail art brush and made the base of the roses with Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac. I added some shading with darker purple, Cirque Colors Chelsea Girl. At the end I added some bright leaves. Instead of using a traditional green, I opted for a turquoise color. Picture Polish Chillax and Cirque Colors Mermaid Parade were the ones I used. At the end I applied two more layers of top coat to smooth everything out and make the design glossy and popped some studs on my pinky and index finger.
